USA Cricket is pleased to announce the selection of the 2022 Men’s National Training Group (NTG). The Men’s National Selectors have named 26 players based on their performances across international and domestic competitions in 2021.

The announcement signals the starting point for the Men’s National Team program for 2022, and this focused group of 26 players will now make up the core of selections for the Men’s National Team in the international matches from this summer onward. The broader group of cricketers in the much larger 2021 Men’s National Training Group will still have the opportunity to push for selection as USA Cricket looks to expand the men’s pathway in early 2022, with further announcements to be made soon.

2022 is a hugely important year for the international game in the United States, with five CWC League 2 tri-series, two being played at home back to back in the May – June period and then three away later in the year being hosted by Namibia, Papua New Guinea, and Scotland. The Men’s Selection Committee and Men’s Coach will regularly review the NTG based on each player’s attitude, fitness, skill development, and performance.

The Men’s Selection Chairman, Michael Voss, said, “I’d like to congratulate all the cricketers who played in the USA Men’s Team during 2021, as well as the wider group who took part domestically in the Men’s National Championships and the Minor League last year for their commitment and efforts. We are delighted to name the 2022 National Training Group of 26 talented cricketers from across the country. This group will be regularly revised based on each player’s attitude, fitness, skill, and performance. Players not within this group of 26 selected will continue to be assessed and those who excel may be added to the National Training Group, while those who do not meet the expected standards could find themselves left out of the Group.”

The equivalent Women’s National Training Group has begun its selection process and will be announced in the next few weeks.
