The American Cricket Federation (ACF) acknowledges the recent action taken by the International Cricket Council (ICC) with regard to the governance of cricket in the USA. In the interim, ACF will continue its role of leading and reshaping the future of cricket in America, for the benefit of all U.S. stakeholders.
We applaud the ICC’s decision to allow both USA squads to participate in the ICC Americas Under-19 and ICC CWC T20 Qualifier tournaments. The players deserve the opportunity and ACF wishes all the US players well, as they prepare to represent this great country on the International stage.
While USACA’s suspension marks the end of a disappointing chapter in American cricket, it is not the end of cricket in the United States. To the contrary, we view it, as a new beginning that was long overdue. During the past three years, ACF has served the best interests of like-minded leagues and thousands of players across the country. An immediate priority is to unify all leagues and clubs in common goals, irrespective of past affiliations.
To this end, ACF looks forward to working with the ICC to establish common policies and fair, transparent representative governance. ACF has already alerted its member leagues and clubs to expect participation in the discussion process as substantive proposals arise.
We invite all other leagues, clubs and individual players to join the ACF family and publically endorse the principles of transparency, democracy, fairness and fiscal responsibility, the foundations upon which the American Cricket Federation was formed.
