He’s known for his pace bowling but the first time I saw Adrian Gordon play, I was impressed by his batting. His style reminded me of the great West Indian batsmen Roy Fredericks and Gordon Greenidge.
Yesterday at the American College Cricket Spring Break Championship, Gordon let loose and smashed a century, 145* of just 53 balls! He scored 11 fours and 8 sixes in an onslaught that was unbelievable.
The pitch at the Central Broward Regional Park side field was fast but Gordon rocketed the balls away faster! All the while he was playing with a hurt big toe, incurred whilst bowling with new shoes. NYU-Poly scored 231 runs off their 20 overs, in response New Jersey Institute of Technology fought to 163 all in 19.1 overs, Krupesh Patel made 65.
Canada Under 19 player Rustam Bhatti scored 102* vs College of Wooster whilst the University of Florida Gators’ Ricky Nayyar smacked 106* vs Ohio State University.
