Lucas Cricket Club vs. Spice Island Cricket Club
Spice Island won by 8 Wickets.

Lucas won the toss and batted first at Marine Park in Brooklyn, NY, posting 204 for the loss of nine wickets, with Akeem Charles contributing 107 of the 204 clicks on the board and off just 80 balls. The sterling knock by the number three bat went unrewarded because Lucas lost to Spice Island by eight wickets.

Charles’ stay in the middle was supported by Rodari Small, 24, Boston Thomas, 16, and Dave Hart, 11. The only other Lucas batters to post more than eleven runs in the inning.

Suburbia’s Clinton Chastou got 3 for 27, Andy Mahase 2 for 30, and Kemron Alexander 2 for 32.

Spice Island, in response, added some quick spice to the porridge, reaching 206 for 2 in record time and the win. Overseas registrant Larando Best top-scored with an unbeaten 88 off 60 deliveries. He was followed closely by Andy Mahase, 74 not out, off 51 balls. The other contributors to the win were Clint Chastou, 25, and Extras, 19.

Westbury Cricket Club vs. Atlantis Cricket Club – NY
Westbury CC won by 65 Runs.

In a keenly contested match not reflected in the final scores, Westbury defeated Atlantis by 65 runs at 88th Street in Canarsie, Brooklyn. Atlantis won the toss and offered the first bat to Westbury, who posted 228 for six in the 30-overs encounter.

The contributions with the willow were made by an even number of batsmen who contributed between 47 and 14 runs each. Skipper Horace Porter chipped in 47 (2x6s, 4x4s). He was followed closely by opener Richard Allen with 42, including eight boundaries.

The Westbury wickets fell at 58, 86, 87, 129, 160, and 161. Bowling for Atlantis: Akeel Hoyte had figures of 6-0-49-3. Ronaldo Ali Mohammed posted 6-0-38-2

Atlantis chasing 229 for victory, was off to a decent start at 55 for one. However, they could only muster 163 for 7 in their allotted 30 overs and the loss. Skipper Randall Wilson top scored with 33, followed closely by Giovanni Letren with 31 and overseas registrant Ronaldo Ali Mohammed with 29 (2x6s, 1×4). The Atlantis wickets fell at 55, 66, 70, 120, 121, 129, and 157. Bowling for Westbury: Joseph Brown 6-0-39-3 was the pick of the litter. Kevin Stout posted figures of 6-0-29-2 in the Westbury victory.

Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Suburbia posted 249 for 7 in their 30 overs at Walker Park on Staten Island. The top scorers were Dean Burrell, 70 off 45 balls (5x6s, 4x4s), Sumon Bari, 37 (1×6, 4x4s), and Andre Lindsay, 25 (2x6s, 1×4). The Suburbia wickets fell at 99, 101, 171, 216, 220, 235, and 247. Bowling for Staten Island: Krishna Bala 5.1-0-25-2 and Abdel Choudhary 6-0-56-2 were the main wicket-takers.

Staten Island, in reply, eeked out 183 for 9 in their 30 overs, as the middle-order collapsed around an excellent knock by skipper Shafikul Sacroolar, 49 not out (4x6s, 5x4s). He was supported by an earlier knock from opener Abdul Choudhary, 29 (4x4s), and Charu Choudhari’s 27 (1×6, 1×4). The Staten Island wickets fell at 1, 18, 30, 30, 42, 71, 77, 117, and 154. Bowling for Suburbia: Overseas registrant Janyo Beckford 6-0-33-3, Rohan Knight 6-1-21-2, and Cuthbert Mendonca 6-0-24-2 were the pick of the bowlers in the Suburbia victory.

Villagers Sports Club vs. Queens United Sports Club

Villagers won the toss and opted to bat first. The team posted 266 for 8. Leading the scorers were Andre McCarthy, 106 (4x6s, 14x4s) off 63 balls. Opener and overseas registrant Tristan Coleman, 43 off 37 balls (5x6s, 2x4s), Alfred Quasen, 24 (3x6s, 1×4), and Alex Amsterdam, 23 (1×6, 2x4s) contributed to the 266 total.

The Villagers’ wickets fell 62, 71, 73, 84, 111, 119, 193, and 202. Bowling for Queens United: Yannick Elliott with 7-1-42-4 and Damion Jacobs with 6-0-51-3 were the pick of the bowlers.

In response and a closely fought battle, Queens United edged past Villagers with 269 for four in the 26th over, mainly behind the bats of Romain Morris, 103 (6x6s, 7x4s) off 68 balls. Overseas registrant Oraine Williams posted 55 off 23 deliveries (4x6s, 4x4s), and fellow overseas registrant Akeem Dewar had a cameo knock of 38 not out (1×6, 5x4s).

The pair of Akeen Dewar, an overseas registrant, 38, and Marinaro Dixon, 22, batting in the fifth and sixth slots, took Queens United over the top and the victory. The Queens United wickets fell at 81, 198, 203, and 225.

Bowling for Villagers: George Adams and Ricardo Dacres each enjoyed one wicket in the losing cause.
