United States Youth Cricket Association
On September 27, over 20 Anne Arundel County Maryland schools came together for an introduction to cricket and to receive free American Cricket Champ sets. Anne Arundel County is the tenth Maryland county to introduce cricket to its students through the USYCA Schools Program.
USYCA President Jamie Harrison, a resident of Anne Arundel County, led the instruction and set distribution. Video of the teachers engaging in a light-hearted game can be seen here.
A second event for Anne Arundel County teachers is already under consideration, and plans are being made to launch a new community youth cricket program in the county next year.
USYCA wishes to thank Walter R. “Skip” Lee III, Coordinator for Health, Physical Education and Dance in Anne Arundel County Public Schools, for arranging this event.
