Three Atlantis players, Alex Amsterdam, Joy Jones and Samantha Ramataur are set to attend the Michael Holding and Alvin Kallicharran Cricket Clinic this weekend in Maryland. Hosted by the American Cricket Federation (ACF) and Washington Metropolitan Cricket Board (WMCB), the exclusive one-day cricket clinic is limited to a small number of individuals, so as to maximize the instruction from the two former West Indies Test players.
The program will be held at the indoor turf facilities of the Capital Sports Complex in Glendale, Maryland. Holding and Kallicharran will each conduct two sessions for the participants, addressing techniques and other approaches to the game. The participants are expected to use the experience gained in the company of the two legends to improve their game.
Jones is a former West Indies Women’s fast bowler, while Ramataur, an emerging women’s all-rounder has represented the USA on several occasions, and recently captained the Atlantis Women’s XI in New York. Amsterdam, an accomplished all-rounder, is Atlantis’ 2013 MVP and Shevonne Mentis Educational Scholarship recipient.
Atlantis hopes that the knowledge gained by its participating players will be shared with other team mates upon their return.
