Eastern American Cricket Association | Scorecard
A brilliant all round performance from former Guyana under-19 player Michael Noble who scored his first century (119 runs) along with a five wicket haul in his first game of the EACA season and a hostile spell of fast bowling by the lanky Charlton Senior enable Enmore to secured their first win, in the match played last Sunday against Victory Cricket Club at Brentwood.
Winning the toss and elected to bat Enmore scored 318 for the loss of 7 wickets. Opening the batting were the hard hitting L. Shoy and K. Dindial aka “Short Man”. Enmore lost their first wicket when Shoy was bowled by Harlwen for a quick fire 20 that contained 2 sixes and a four. Noble then joined Dindial and was the first to reach the half century mark. Meanwhile Dindial was playing the sheet anchor role until he was out caught for a well played 59. Skipper Safraz Ali, who opted not to open the batting, went very quickly, when he was run out for 2. Nicky Joseph then joined Noble and saw Noble reaching his century before he was bowled by Sumesh for a well played 31. The hard hitting Saheed Mohamed then went in and made a quick fire 33 not out that contained 4 sixes and 1 four and saw Noble been out caught for a well played 119 runs.
Victory in their reply found the hostile bowling of Charlton Senior on a track that was drying out, too much to handle. Senior accounted for the first four wickets, three of which were bowled down and was unfortunate not to have picked up the fiver after the wicket keeper put down Jiten off a regulation catch off the last ball of his spell. Noble then accounted for the next five wickets to round off a fine all round performance.
Shoy then accounted for the last wicket to bowl out Victory for 180 off 34 overs and seal victory for Enmore by 135 runs.
Kabir 36 runs, Birru 32 runs and Jiten, who was severed on Senior last over hitting him for 4 fours made 27 runs, before he was bowled by Noble, were the main contributors for Victory.
