VisitorsCoverage Cup
California Cricket Academy (CCA) and Cricket Council of Ontario (CCO) continued their tradition of celebrating Thanksgiving with an under-17 bi-lateral tournament. The CCO team consisting of 15 players and two officials played four matches that included two T20 matches, one 45-Over match, along with another 45-Overs match reduced to 25-Overs, due to rain. CCA and the visiting COO each secured two victories, resulting in a tied series.

VisitorsCoverage CEO Rajeev Srivastava presents the tournament cup to both team captains.

Three CCA teams, including one Development XI played against the visiting Ontario Province XI consisting of several Canadian national players and probables. The Canadian team was coached by Farouk Kirmani and managed by Mike Henry. The CCA team was coached by Dashrath Sankhe.

“This is the second time CCA has hosted Cricket Council of Ontario U-17 team during Thanksgiving, and coincidentally both times the bi-lateral series has ended in a draw. The CCO team consisted of players currently representing Canada and have great potential. This helped make the tournament a very competitive one, and both teams gained valuable experience,” said Hemant Buch, founder of the California Cricket Academy.

The tournament was made possible through the sponsorship of VisitorsCoverage, Inc., ThinkPalm Technologies and Arkrit. Their sponsorship helped CCA to cover hotel and other match related expenses for the Thanksgiving Weekend tournament. The Santa Clara Cricket Club of the Bay Area prepared and provided their full-sized field for the tournament, to give the boys the best playing conditions and experience possible.

“VisitorsCoverage is happy to support youth cricket development, and I was extremely happy to see the standard of cricket played during the tournament,” said Rajeev Srivastava, CEO and President of VisitorsCoverage, Inc., title sponsor of the event.

“We are really excited to see CCA providing a great platform for encouraging youngsters to play competitive cricket in the USA, especially with exposure to international teams through the Thanksgiving break U-17 tournament. Such opportunities will help enable more players to build the competitive cricket talent in USA. ThinkPalm is very happy to support such efforts towards building cricket talent in the USA,” said Biju Nair, Chairman of ThinkPalm Technologies.
