CCB’s Batting and Bowling Linchpins Achieve CCL Milestones

Manjeet Inamdar is a talismanic presence in the Colorado Crossbats (CCB) side. He recently achieved a milestone of scoring 2,000 runs in the Colorado Cricket League (CCL). He is also a rather deceptive bowler, with his Walsh like deliveries which come in at a sharp angle and snake away ever so slightly, leaving batsmen poking at thin air. But as a batsman is where he has had his biggest impact.
He generally plays off the front foot in the V, with great timing and let me use the rather boozy term of “punch”. If you ever are coming in to a game or practice session involving CCB and you want to know if Manjeet is batting, you close your eyes and hear a solid “thwack sound”, then you know Manjeet is batting and probably lofting a ball over mid-off’s head. That being said, he is one of the strongest players of the short ball in the league. Many an opening bowler’s figures and confidence have been dented with Manjeet’s pull shot.
Starting from his debut in 2011, here are some of the highlights of Manjeet’s CCL career so far:
2015 Colorado Cricket League CACU VP
2013 Twenty20 Best All-rounder
2013 Twenty20 Best Batsman
2013 Premier Umpire of the Year
2012 Premier Best Wicket-Keeper
2011 Premier Highest Partnership of the Year
2011 Premier Rookie Of The Year
We at CCB wish him all the very best for the ongoing season and here’s to many more aggressively made runs in the league!
Satyam Singh
I first came across Satyam at a CCB practice session, held at Slammers, which is an indoor baseball batting cage. He hustled in that day and bounced practically every batsman that walked into the nets (much to their vocal discomfort, I may add). The next I saw him was during a match, where he started with just half his run-up I saw the other day and was totally a different bowler. It was a stunning transformation from a Tino Best Jekyll to a Jimmy Anderson Hyde. That’s when I came to know about this man’s repertoire with the ball.
He achieved a milestone of taking 100 CCL wickets recently, of which, many batsman would have been done in by the swing that Satyam generates. He almost instinctively hits the right length for the surface from ball 1. I have seen him hoodwink batsman by various methods ranging from bowling wide of stumps to targeting them with six yorkers in a row.
Some of his achievements in CCL include:
2013 Premier Best All-rounder
2012 Twenty20 Best Bowler
2011 Premier Highest Partnership of the Year
Congrats to Satyam on achieving the milestone of 100 CCL wickets and we at CCB also wish him a happy married life (Our boy got hitched about a month back!).
