Chanderpaul Hemraj starred with the bat and ball for Liberty Lions, Derick Narine scored 54 and Dino Chooweenam 51 to contribute to three wins in three games over the weekend.

The Blue Nation had a winning 5th week with back-to-back-to-back victories for Liberty Lions and Richmond Hill Liberty Club in their 30 and 40 overs league matches respectively. Derick Naraine 54 (21), Dino Chooweenam 51 (43), and Satish Dwarka 42 led the batting performances while three wickets each for Keron Sewanarine, Latchman Bisram, Andrew Toby, Terrance Madarmotoo, and Leon Mohabir in their relevant matches. Dino Chooweenam, Chanderpaul Hemraj, and Derick Narine earned MOM awards for playing a significant role in their side victories.

Richmond Hill Liberty vs West Coast Warriors – Sunday
In Caribbean Fest 40 Overs Tournament 2021 Season League Match between West Coast Warriors and Richmond Hill Liberty, RHL cruised their way to victory in the 25th over of the second innings, chasing down 170 by 5 wickets. After winning the toss RHL decided to field first and confined the opposition team total to 169 runs courtesy of a brilliant display of bowling skills by their bowling unit, apart from Jamiel Jackman every bowler used by RHL picked up a wicket but Latchman Bisram 3 wickets for 21 at an economy rate of 2.25 was the standout performer with the ball. RHL in reply dominated the second half of the match as their counterattack strategy proved effective and they easily chased down the target. Dino Chooweenam’s half-century negated Sewsaran Sookdeo’s threatening display of bowling who grasped 3 scalps in the process. Dino Chooweenam was also named man of the match for his all-around performance both with the bat 51(43) & ball (1/34). Richmond Hill Liberty Club is placed at the no.1 position in Group B with 9 points and a healthy net run rate.

Liberty Lions vs King’s Men Cricket Club – Saturday
In NYNCL 30 overs Saturday Tournament 2021 League Liberty Lions won by 55 Runs comprehensively beating King’s Men CC. After claiming the toss Liberty Lions elected to bat first and posted a competitive total of 199/9 in their quota of 30 overs. Liberty Lions stared innings on a high note before Oliver Buckle applied brakes to their speed, he looked in a different touch as he dismantled four opposition batsmen for just 33 runs. A collective effort and a blistering cameo at the end by Satish Dwarka 42 (21) guided the team total of almost double hundred. In return, King’smen CC lost their first wicket on the second ball of the innings and later found themselves trembling at 11 for 3. Six of their batsmen failed to enter double-figure as Liberty Lions bowing unit lead by Andrew Tomby 3 for 29 wrapped opposition ranks for 144 in the last over. Chanderpaul Hemraj was awarded MOM for his contributions to all departments of the game. Liberty Lions currently found themselves at no 4 ranks in Group B Table.

Richmond Hill Liberty vs Phantom Stallions Cricket Club – Saturday
It was a mismatch between Phantom Stallions Cricket Club vs Richmond Hill Liberty in NYNCL 30 overs Saturday League as RHL outclassed their opposition side and chased down the target of 79 runs in 7.4 overs. Richmond Hill Liberty won the toss and asked Phantom Stallions CC to bat first. It was a brutal showcase of bowling skills by RHL bowlers as they blew away the batting unit of Phantom Stallions. the Tail ender Adnan Rashid played a face-saving innings for his team otherwise they would have ended up below 50, he managed to score 20 runs becoming the highest run-scorer of the innings. Chasing 79, Derick Narine took Phantom Stallion bowlers to the cleaners as he scored a hasty half-century at a striking rate of 257. Malik Omar grasped 2 wickets in the process but it had no significant effect on the outcome of the match. RHL was over the line in the eight over and remains unbeaten in the league. Derick Narine was awarded MOM for his magnificent outing with the bat scoring 54 runs on just 21 balls.
