CricHQ chief executive Simon Baker said the new BBM Channels feature has provided the tech company with another important platform to showcase its wares. “It’s exciting to think about CricHQ being integrated with BBM – with millions of people around the world using the service, the potential is huge for us. We’re looking forward to getting our technology in front of BlackBerry cricket lovers.”

Baker said there were also exciting opportunities in the Indian market as CricHQ’s live scoring, competition management and CRM system for cricket is going to be made available to BlackBerry’s customer base.

“India loves cricket, and Indians love their BlackBerry smartphones so there’s some fertile middle ground for CricHQ in the sub-continent,” said Baker. “We also want to get the corporate market in India excited about what we have to offer – corporate cricket is massive in that part of the world and CricHQ could revolutionise almost every aspect of it.”

BBM Channels, a feature launched late last year, will help CricHQ build a community with users on BBM.

“We are thrilled to work with CricHQ and welcome the launch of their new BBM Channel. BBM Channels is a great new way for well-loved organizations, such as CricHQ, to connect with fans and build out their community. We expect cricket fans will be highly engaged on the channel, discussing and sharing their thoughts with others in the community,” said Krishnadeep Baruah, Senior Marketing Director for BBM in Asia Pacific at BlackBerry.
