Cricket for Cubs led by Ramesh Immadi, successfully completed the fourth edition of its Inter-school tournament with an impressive closing ceremony on May 21st last. It was a great couple of weeks for youth cricket in the USA.
The non-profit Cricket for Cubs organization was established two years ago with five youth board members and a dream to have local schools compete against each other in a youth cricket tournament.
After 18 months, 14 teams, 180 players from 11 schools and four different school districts – Dublin Unified School District (DUSD), Pleasanton Unified School District (PUSD), San Ramon Valley Unified School District (SRVUSD), Lammers Unified School District (LUS) (Mountain House) found themselves playing 35 games in two different divisions, Middle and Elementary, and over two weekends at three different grounds, with some nail biting finishes.
Thanks to all the team managers and parent volunteers, without whom an event of such a scale would not have been possible.
