St. Richard’s Episcopal School of Indianapolis, with a fifty-year tradition of excellence in education, recently introduced cricket during a day-long camp directed by Jatin Patel of the Indiana Youth Cricket Association.

Founded in 1960, St. Richard’s is the only independent Episcopal day school in Indiana. Boasting a diverse and international student body, 36% of the school population are non-Caucasians, representing over 20 different countries of origin. Its award-winning Middle Division foreign language program offers Global Readiness through international exchange programs.

Mary Helen Peoni, Athletic Director at St. Richard’s, said, “Many of St. Richard’s students, being from overseas, are already aware of the cricket and they are ready to play this game in school; many other students want to try this new game as well. We are thankful to USYCA for the free cricket set, and are also pleased to have had Jatin Patel’s coaching at the day camp to provide training to our students.”
