The New York Cricket Academy U-19 boys registered their first victory in the NYCR U19 tournament against EACA U19s on Saturday, July 30th. at Baisley Cage in Queens NY. EACA won the toss and batted first, but could manage a of 90 total runs.
Young left-arm swing bowler Yogindra Dass took advantage of the new ball after he removed skipper Trevis Ross for a golden duck. Ross who represented the USA U15 team is in good form after scoring an unbeaten century against a young Tristate squad in the first round of the U19 competition. Dass would finish with match figures of 5 for 14 after 7 overs.
Openers Randall Wilson and Troy Mars went out and knocked off the total in twenty-five overs. Mars registered an unbeaten half-century, which included 3 fours and 4 massive sixes. Wilson who registered two centuries during the 2011 USACA U-15 Nationals played the supporting role with a patience 28. Skipper Carmichael continues to show why he’s a strong candidate to lead the NYCR U19 team.
