On 6/16 at Marine Park A on a heavily grassed out field, Middlesex CC won the toss and elected to bat, it was slow going from the get go. Middlesex openers struggling to get the ball away, Mark Audain batted an hour for 4 runs, Alston Bacchus batted 70 minutes for his 9 runs, it was a struggle from the start, but it was some very good penetrative bowling from skipper Trinson Carmichael and Khan. Dominic Audain came to the rescue, and produced another responsible inning with 32 runs, Treldon McMillan with a gritty 19, Tegana Mckenzie, former Diplomats player, batted with great determination for his 18. Bowling for Diplomats, the burly medium pacer, Kevin Charles 7.3 overs, 32 runs, 3 wickets, Trinson Carmichael, 8 overs, 2 maidens, 14 runs, 2 wickets, Khan, 8 overs, 2 maidens, 18 runs, 1 wicket, and former Guyana youth player, left arm spinner, Gavin Smith, 8 overs, 1 maiden, 27 runs, 1 wicket. Diplomats, 132 for 2 from 28 overs, it was a captains knock by Trinson Carmichael, he made 84 not out, beautiful, classy runs, he played the ball to all parts of the field, hitting some lusty blows as well, he did not offer a chance to the Middlesex bowlers, his inning produced (6 x 4, 5 x 6), great support came from Boodoo with a patient, 24 not out. Bowling for Middlesex, Dominic Audain 7 overs, 2 maidens, 19 runs, 1 wicket, and Kavir Singh 7 overs, 1 maiden, 31 runs, 1 wicket. Diplomats winning by 8 wickets. This was Middlesex first loss for the 2013 season, currently 4-1, Diplomats record this season is 3-1. The only negative from this game was the heavily grass out field, if you are a batsman who plays the ball on the ground, well it’s going to be an uphill battle, let hope the NYC park department can show us some love and cut the grass.
