As you all know “Cricket All Stars 2015” hosts first of its kind cricket series featuring 26 global cricket icons led by Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne. If you haven’t heard about it, check out cricketallstars2015.com.

To answer questions I get about the event and why I support this so much, let me do a simple cost benefit analysis.

Price:
The best tickets are $175 ($216 with taxes)

If I do the math, I see that I am paying $8.30 / legend to watch them play in these matches sitting in one city. If I imagine a hypothetical situation where they are all STILL playing in ONE world cup with ALL matches happening in ONE city, even then I will be paying a lot more than one ticket to this event. You can imagine the prohibitive cost to see them play even if one of the above restrictions are taken out. The way I see it, it’s a steal and once in a life time opportunity.

Value:
It gives goosebumps to realize that I will hear, “Sachiiiinnnn.. Sachiiiinnnn..” as the GOD paints the field with his shots, see Shane Warne and Muralitharan do their magic with the ball, Wasim Swing and Rawalpindi Express run, Lara and Ponting take stand, Jonty’s catches – all this again on field before my eyes and not feel like it’s a dream. It would be a thrill to see that awe in my son’s eyes when he sees those titans that made me choose cricket for a living. He will remember this as a memory to cherish for life.

Why I support and request all to support this initiative?
This is a great opportunity to put US and specifically Houston, NY, LA on cricket map. A grand success of this event would bring more investment in all forms of cricket development. More professional matches can happen in US for us to enjoy and our kids will have a good shot at cricket.

Let’s support this initiative that brings us these legends who gave us great childhood memories and entertained us for decades with their skills. Let’s help the organizers promote this event, as what happens to the event is not just their benefit or loss, we will also have a lot to gain or lose.
