Forty-Five Under-17 Players Participated

The New York Cricket Region took full advantage of “spring recess” in which a series of evaluation sessions were conducted for approximately forty-five U-17 youngsters.  The evaluation process is an initial step in preparation for the USACA 2011 Inaugural U-17 Nationals which is tentatively scheduled for May 27th – 30th to be held in Orlando, Florida.

Amarnauth Persaud struck 18 for the Under-17 team.

A few available U19 players participated in a practice match against the U-17 youngsters on Thursday, April 21 at the new and improved Baisley South Cricket Ground in Queens. The region would like to thank all the youngsters that were committed to the evaluation sessions.  We must also thank the following gentlemen whom were in attendance for the evaluation sessions:

(1)   Mr. Patrick Sutherland, 2010 NYCR U19 Manager, (2) Mr. Sew Shivnarine, US U-19 National Selector, and (3) Mr. Ricky Kissoon, 2010 NYCR U-19 Coach.

The New York Cricket Region will continue with its recruitment process for U-15, U-17, and U-19 cricketers.  Please contact Mr. Patrick Sutherland @ patricksv1@aol.com or Mr. Ricky Kissoon @ nyyouthcricket@aol.com for a parental consent form if you like to participate in any of the evaluation sessions.
