Half centuries from Zamal Khan 64*, Jonathan Foo 51 and Karan Ganesh 50 led Galaxy to a 27 runs victory over Everest/ACS in Eastern American Cricket Association (EACA) semi-final encounter at Lido Beach Cricket Field last Sunday.
The decision by Everest/ACS skipper Rafeek Nazeer to insert Galaxy to bat in glorious sunshine seemed to be working for his bowlers reducing Galaxy to 110/5 in the 24th over. But Karan Ganesh was joined by the experience ever dependable Zamal Khan and the pair combined to add 122 runs for the 6th wicket with Ganesh falling to the final ball of the innings ending at 232/6 off their allotted 40 overs.
In reply Everest/ACS lost wickets at regular intervals and was all out for 201 with Rafeek Nazeer 51, D. Prasad 41 and T. Haley 36 the only batsmen to reach double figures. Bowling for Galaxy Johnathan Foo grabbed 3 wickets while Karan Ganesh and Seon Daniels picked up 2 each.
The win saw Galaxy through to their maiden EACA 40 overs final and will clash with Liberty CC on Sunday Aug. 18, at the Cage, starting time is 12pm sharp.
