The Indiana Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (INAHPERD) continues to help Indiana YCA to reach out to remaining schools in Indiana for its schools cricket program, through its partnership with USYCA since 2012. INHPERD members interested with in the school cricket program receive FREE cricket sets from USYCA, and Indiana YCA provides coaching and education needed to launch the program.
All participants at the annual state conference had the opportunity to attend a workshop as well as a chance to try the bat and ball game at an interactive clinic.
IAHPERD (http://www.inahperd.org) represents education professionals in the Hoosier state. The Association is affiliated with the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) and the Midwest District of the Alliance (MDAAHPERD). IAHPERD is a professional education association for teachers, administrators, researchers, coaches, students and other allied professionals who are actively engaged in and dedicated to the promotion of quality health, physical education, recreation, dance, sport and allied programming in public and private schools, colleges and universities, and community agencies throughout the state of Indiana.
The mission of IAHPERD is to enhance the credibility of the disciplines within our Association through advocacy, professional development, and research-based pedagogies resulting in healthier communities.
Jatin Patel of USYCA said, “The IAHPERD partnership is tremendously helping our mission to expand school youth cricket here In Indiana since 2012 and continues to grow rapidly as expected by reaching out to remaining schools in Indiana. At this point we are exceeding our initial goal of just reaching 100 schools per year with total of 438 schools equipped with the cricket education and a statewide cricket study guide which was developed by PE teachers in 2013.“
