With just over a week to go for the commencement of the inaugural Global T20 tournament which being run under the auspices of Cricket Canada, JB Masters Cricket Club is buzzing with excitement to host a Celebrity Charity Dinner on July 6 at Rose Garden Banquet Hall, Toronto.
Exciting T20 players from around the globe will be in action from June 28 to July 16 at Maple Leaf King City venue and galore of entertainment is highly anticipated. According to Secretary of JB Masters, Rizwan Mohamed, all proceeds raised will go directly to Sick Kids Foundation of Toronto and Ezekiel Home for abandoned children in Trinidad and Tobago.
“Our organization always gives back to the less fortunate; I personally thank all the players who have committed to support this venture and we [are] looking forward to a large crowd at the Luxurious Banquet Hall to support this worthy cause and at the same time to meet your cricket stars,” Mohamed stated.
Players of the caliber like Chris Gayle, one of the most pugnacious batsmen, are expected to grace the event where fans can meet and greet these players. Apart from Gayle, fellow West Indians Kieron Pollard, Dwayne Bravo, Sunil Narine, Darren Sammy, Andre Russell among others. The round-robin competition will also see international star players which including Steven Smith, Tim Southtee, David Warner, Shahid Afridi, Lasith Malinga, Luke Ronchi, Wayne Parnell, David Miller just to name a few. Several regular members of Canada national team will also be exhibiting their skills at the event and those are: Rizwan Cheema, Hiral Patel, Srimantha Wijeratne, Rivunda Gunasekera among others.
The six teams that will be competing for a top-cash prize of US$500, 000 are Toronto Nationals, Vancouver Knights, Montreal Tigers, Edmonton Royals, Winnipeg Hawks and Cricket West Indies B team.
Mohamed further emphasized the importance of such an event especially when having fanatics of the game will have a life-time opportunity to be in company with these accomplished athletes. He is very grateful to GT20 organizing committee for the allowance of such an opportunity and this will certainly establish the togetherness of players and fans in Canada soon.
“I am very thankful to Cricket Canada and all who have played a part so far to make this event a successful one; the preparations are great and we certainly will have a wonderful time,” Mohamed related.

Meanwhile, JB Masters team is currently participating in the annual 2018 Toronto and District Cricket Association highest level- Super Elite Division. JB Masters was formerly known as Brampton Masters but was renamed JB Masters in 2016 after the untimely passing of the founder and Sports Director Johnny Bujan. JB Masters captain Saad Bin Zafar, Nikhil Dutta and Dilon Heyliger were drafted in this tournament as well.
