Atlantis Cricket Club – NY held its 52nd Annual General Meeting on Sunday last and elected an executive Board to serve for the next two years. Heading the list of those elected was John Aaron, returning for his second stint as President of the club. Aaron previously served 10 years as president and a similar spell as the club’s Secretary, bringing a number of innovative ideas and programs to the club, including community activism, women’s cricket, and an educational scholarship fund.
Nigel Harper returns as Executive Vice President having served as vice president during the last electoral cycle. Courtney “Sarge” LeGall is the club’s new Vice President having completed two years as the club’s president. Long time Treasurer Keith Aaron retained his position unopposed, and former club Secretary Colin Sandy was elected to serve in the same capacity once more. The new Assistant Secretary Treasurer is Keith Holder.
Rounding out the new Executive Board are Steve Welcome, a former club president and now Trustee, along with Lester Hooper, Manager, and Alex Amsterdam, club captain. The latter two retaining their previous positions.
The 2018 season will be Atlantis’ second year in the New York Metropolitan District Cricket Association, after making an impressive debut last year and finishing among the top four teams in all three of the league’s tournaments.
