Kevin Augustin Excels as Kingsmen XI Triumphs Over Cricket Boss XI

Despite a cloudy start and a brief shower, this past Saturday, July 6, 2024, saw an exhilarating cricket match between Kingsmen XI and Cricket Boss XI at Charles Drew Park. The match began with Cricket Boss XI winning the toss and choosing to bowl first in what was set to be a thrilling 27-over game.

Kingsmen XI put up an impressive total, scoring 200 runs in 26.4 overs. Kevin Augustin led the charge with a powerful innings, smashing 47 runs off 34 balls, which included three fours and two sixes. Supporting him were Temall Jaikarran and Kheshram Seyhodan, who both contributed valuable 21 runs each. Cricket Boss XI’s bowlers had a challenging day, with Sukhpal Singh taking 3 wickets for 37 runs in his 6 overs, Carlos Bachu claiming 2 wickets for 44 runs in 6 overs, and Faiz Azeez picking up 2 wickets for 26 runs in 4.4 overs.

Kevin Augustin had an excellent all-round performance hitting a quick 47 and then picked up 3 for 30.

As the humidity began to set in, Cricket Boss XI faced a daunting target. However, their batting lineup struggled against the fierce bowling attack of Kingsmen XI and were bowled out for just 82 runs in 20.2 overs. Devon McCarthy was the top scorer for Cricket Boss XI with 21 runs off 23 balls, including three boundaries. Andrew Buckle also contributed with 14 runs off 13 balls, hitting three boundaries as well.

Kingsmen XI’s bowlers were in exceptional form. Kevin Augustin showcased his all-round abilities by taking 3 wickets for 30 runs in his 6 overs. Hayden Babulal was even more economical, capturing 3 wickets for just 11 runs in 4 overs. Vishal Roopnarine also made a significant impact, taking 2 wickets for 12 runs in his 4 overs, including one maiden over.

The match concluded with Kingsmen XI securing a dominant victory by 118 runs. Kevin Augustin’s stellar performance with both bat and ball earned him the well-deserved Man of the Match award.
