Victory Cricket Club won the toss in bright sunshine at the picturesque Baisley Pond Park (The Cage) and decided to bat first. Bilal Shahid and Rayhanul Islam open the bowling for the Meten-Meer-Zorg (MMZ) team. Bilal bowling with good control and pace had Mani brilliantly caught by Andy Mohammed for 3, Islam at the other end kept the batsmen quiet.
Skipper Asgarally replaces Bilal from the Foch Blvd end and brought on Rocky Kowchai who immediately had Sambhav cleaned bowled then he had Summit caught for 15. Charrandeep came in and played aggressive before he was cleaned up by Kowchai for 11, as MMZ kept the pressure on the team from Long Island. With some late hitting from Harleem Singh saw his team to 88 all out in 17.1 overs. Rocky Kowchai finish with figures of 5 for 9 off 4 overs and Bilal Shahid 2 for 7 off 3 overs.
Ken Nandkumar and Trevis Ross walked out to the middle and started off very aggressively with Nandkumar hitting the leather to all part of the park. Nandkumar played a fine innings and was eventually out for 40 well compiled runs. Deonauth Baksh and Amarnath Persaud see the MMZ boys home in the 14th over. MMZ finishes on 94 for 2 off 14 overs.
Final scores: VCC 88 all out off 17.1 overs and MMZ 94 for 2 off 14 overs.
