Liberty Sports Club extends a massive thank you to all its supporters who came out and make their 2013 BBQ fundraisers a major success. The club held it’s 4th annual backyard BBQ on June 1st, included in the celebration was the presentation of the 2012 season’s Most Valuable Player award to all-rounder Imtiaz ‘Tizzle’ Hassan.
The warm summer day saw family, friends, cricket clubs & senior league executives come out to show their support to the men in blue. Notably present were club members from Richmond Hill CC, Atlantis CC, Galaxy CC, Big Apple CC, Everest/ACS, MMZ CC among other Eastern American Cricket Association teams.
Present also were members of the popular West Indies Cricket fan site caribbeancricket.com along with the administrator of newyorkcricket.com. Close friends of the club, The Hills Cricket Club of Brooklyn NY & Nationals Cricket Club was also present in strong support.
The team received a notable donation from Jai Sharma, Owner/Broker, of Service First Realty of 215-15 Jamaica Ave in Queens Village, New York along with generous contributions from many of the EACA clubs and other supporters present.
Supporters enjoyed cool drinks and succulent BBQ in the relaxed back yard environment as the party continued into the afternoon.
The evening was highlight with the 2012 Season MVP award presentation to All-Rounder, Imtiaz ‘Tizzle’ Hassan. Tizzle, playing his first full year with the club in 2012, led the wickets column and finished second on the runs tally to stand out as the clear winner of the award.
The #BlueNation continues its season in the EACA Power40 tournament, after being undefeated in their first 3 games, this weekend against the formidable Atlantis Cricket Club-NY. The game will be played at Flushing Meadows Park.
Once again the Liberty Sports Club would like to thank its supporters and encourage their continued support as the club continues to create a positive team environment for its young members.
