Meten-Meer-Zorg Cricket Club held its 2010 Cricket presentation on Saturday March 26th, 2011.
The presentation was a success with a very good turn out of friends, family and supporters of the team.
The presentation was open by Rawle Hoyte with a prayer and followed by the opening remarks by the team captain Ajaz Asgarally who thank all the players, supporters, friends, family and their sponsor Sonny’s Collision for making their 2010 season a success. MMZ is made up of mostly youth players who play in the PSAL cricket league.
This year MMZ will be joined by USA under 15 players Amarnauth Persaud, along with Bilal Shahid and 18 year old Saw Paing who just came from Burma. The players strongly believe that they can go a far way in this year competition. With the likes of Andy Mohammed, Deonauth Baksh, Amarnauth Persaud, Robin Das and Zaaid Majeed the MMZ boys will surely be a threat to most teams. Good luck MMZ.
MMZ would like to thank all those who support them especially Eastern American Cricket League to give these youngsters an opportunity to play in such a well organized Cricket league. Awards were given to many players for their outstanding performances in the 2010 season.
MVP 40 overs competition went to: Deonauth Baksh with 2 century with the best of 108 in the semi final against the strong EACS cricket team.
MVP T20 went to the dashing all rounder Robin Das, with a splendid 60 in the final against Everest/ACS.
Most runs went to USA national player Azurdeen Mohammed with 385 runs at an average of 38.8, which include 4 half century.
Most wickets went to the talented Zaaid Majeed with 20 wickets.
Most improved player went to the hard hitting youth player Imdad Khan.
Most economic bowler: Saumil Gandhi.
Most discipline players: Neel Patel and Rayhanul Islam
Half centuries: Azurdeen Mohammed ,Ajaz Asgarally,Rocky Kowchai ,Robin Das,Thakur Singh and Zaaid Majeed.
Five wickets: Robin Das and Azurdeen Mohammed.
