The Cricket Michigan’s steering Committee is proud to announce Ms Portia Fields-Anderson, a leader in Community and Human Services, as the Director of Michigan Cricket Academy, a subsidiary of Cricket Michigan.

In her illustrious career that has spanned over 35 years, Ms Fields-Anderson
• Started working at the Pontiac Recreation Department in the Oakland County, Michigan
• Served the Detroit Board of Education & Archdiocese of Detroit
• Served Huron-Clinton Metropolitan Authority as the Assistant Superintendent ( responsibilities included supervision of a $4 million operational fund with 5500 acres of park land and 150 full time staff across multiple counties in the State of Michigan ) and
• Finally retired as the Director of Community & Human Services Department, City of Pontiac in 2006 ( responsibilities included the operation, fiduciary & planning of the four divisions that houses seven community centers, 22 parks, the library, transportation services, 51 full time staff & 100 part time staff )
She is certified
• Parks and Recreation Profession [CPRP]
• Therapeutic Recreation Specialist [NCTRS]
• Aquatics Facility Operator [AFO]
• Food Service Manager
She holds a Masters in Administration of Recreation & Park Services & Recreational Leadership for the Aging, apart from having a long list of Professional Affiliations, Professional Involvement & Community Involvement.
After retirement from public service, she has been involved with the game of Cricket as the Director of Galaxy Recreation, a registered non-profit with the State of Michigan.
In the dream of making Cricket an ALL AMERICAN SPORT, Ms Fields-Anderson as the Director of Michigan Cricket Academy aims at making sure “NO CRICKET INTEREST FROM 06 TO 25 IS LEFT BEHIND” in sync with CRICKET MICHIGAN slogan “no cricketer left behind”.
