New York Blasters—winners of the first T20 New York big bash tournament this year will be playing a series of matches through-out Guyana in August. The opening game is billed for Wednesday the 13th at Bush lot on the West Coast of Berbice on a newly redeveloped ground.
The second game is Thursday, 14th at the Rockaway Cricket Ground located on Strathspey, East Coast Demerara, and on Friday 15th they will do battle in a T20 day and night game at Banks D.I.H on the East Bank of Demerara, against the home team—in memory of the late Otis George, one of East Bank’s finest cricketer, who passed away recently.
From there, the Blasters moves on to Chesney Sports Club Ground on the Corentyne of Berbice, where the Sudesh Dhaniram ardent fans will be waiting to welcome the former Guyana stalwart, as they do battle with some former and current stars of Berbice, a sold-out crowd is expected to see the former revisit his glory days with some thrilling stroke-play. That game is slated for Saturday the 16th.
Sunday the 17th, the play Canal Cricket Club on Canal number one ground at West Bank of Demerara. On Wednesday 20th, the home ground of another former West Demerara and Guyana star Rabindranauth Seeram, Cornealia Ida–will be the battlefield against a West Demerara select that comprises of former and current stars. The Final game is at Everest Cricket Ground in Georgetown on Friday the 22nd, where another packed stand is expected.
The team is sponsored and managed by the amiable Hafeez Ali of Rockaway Roti Shop and Taxi Service, who is well known for his—passionate contribution towards the sport. The team that heads south is: Shameer Sadloo, Deryck McDonald, Robert Narine, Shivnan Ramjattan, Sudesh Dhaniram, Zaheer Saffie, Hafeez Ali, Everard Gonsalves, Parsaram Beepat, Hemendra Ramdihal, Saud Hossein, Ameer Khan, Hemraj Chanderpaul, Sanjay Dhaniram and Moin Sadloo.
