North Carolina Captures Youth US Open Crown

North Carolina U-15 cricket team with international cricket start Dwayne Bravo.

North Carolina U-15 cricket team created history when they copped the first ever US Open T20 U-15 title on Sunday at the Central Broward Regional Park.

Players against New Jersey Avengers, the youngsters from North Carolina were unstoppable and rushed to victory by 10 wickets in a match reduced to 15 overs per side. Batting first North Carolina was restricted to 107/7 off 15 overs. Leading the way with the bat was Rehman Dar who made 33 of 32 balls with a four and a six. The best of the bowlers for North Carolina was Akul Gupta with 2/26.

In response, North Carolina openers Amrut Pore and Heer Patel rushed to victory reaching 110 without loss off 9.4 overs. Pore scored 43 not out of 25 balls with a four and three sixes, while Heer Patel made 53 off 33 balls with three fours and four sixes.
