Northeast High School In Maryland Takes Up Cricket
On March 30, USYCA President Jamie Harrison spent the day with the students at Northeast High School in Pasadena, Maryland. Harrison was invited to teach cricket by physical education teacher Shannon Kelly. While there, Harrison was assisted by junior student Muhammad Yasin Butt, who recently emigrated from Pakistan.
Muhammad will be starting a cricket club at Northeast, now that his classmates have had a chance to experience the game. Being new to the area, Muhammad also expressed a desire to catch on with a local team, and within a day Maryland YCA Treasurer Sham Chotoo was in contact with Muhammad so that he could play with Sham’s team, the Metro Sports Club.
Good luck to Muhammad and the great students at Northeast!
