The New York Cricket Region (NYCR) has conducted player evaluation sessions for U19 players during the past three weeks at Baisley Pond Park in Queens, NY.
The sessions were held to select a squad to represent the region at the USACA Eastern Conference U19 tournament in Connecticut between Friday, August 20 and Sunday, August 22, 2010.
At the conclusion of the evaluation process on Saturday, August 14, 2010, a squad of 14 players and 4 reserves were selected from a group of 52 players who either participated in the process or indicated they were available.
The players selected are Kavishwar Bridgepaul, Amarnauth Persaud, Trinson Carmichael (Vice Captain), Andy Mohammed (Captain), Casper Davis Jr., Rocky Kowchai, Ileo Freeman, Trevor Singh, Saumil Ghandi, Trevis Ross, Zahib Tariq, Abrar Zafar, Marlon Persaud and Maurice Powell. The reserves are Foisal Muhammed, Yogindra Dass, Jezeb Tariq and Imran Mazhar.
The manager of the team is Mr. Patrick Sutherland and the coach Mr. Ricky Kissoon. The U19 squad is scheduled to depart Queens, NYC via coach at 6:00am on Friday, August 20, 2010 and return on Sunday evening August 22, 2010 at the conclusion of the tournament.
