Ravi Timbawala To Replace Injured Srinivasa Santhanam
Following last weekend’s Auty Cup the National Selection panel has today confirmed that Ravi Timbawala will replace Srinivasa Santhanam in the 14 man USA squad for ICC World Cricket League Division 4.
Santhanam injured his shoulder following a very impressive first bowling spell in match one of the Auty Cup. He has been ruled out of WCL 4 by medical staff and will seek further advice as to the best course of action for his recovery.
Timbawala joins the USA team for World Cricket League 4 after narrowly missing initial selection and capitalising on his opportunity during the Auty Cup with a match winning innings of 73 not out in the final match. Timbawala has previously represented the USA at U19 level and in the 2013 Auty Cup.
Speaking of the change, USA coach Pubudu Dassanayake said: “It’s disappointing news for Srini – he was bowling very well in that first match before his injury, we wish him all the best with his recovery. Ravi showed during the Auty Cup that he has the ability and determination to win games for his country – he will be a valuable addition to the group for World Cricket League.”
World Cricket League 4 commences in Los Angeles on October 29.
