Match Summary: Seven Star vs National CC at Randall’s Island.
With his scintillating batting performance on Sunday against the National CC – Moshin Khan is on a streak of consecutive not out performances, no matter what level of cricket, deserve some recognition. He has batted three times against top competition so far this season, and has ended up with scores of 90 N.O, 103 NO and 119 N.O!!!
Though, Moshin has been heads above the rest of his batting colleagues and competitors alike with his run scoring binge, we know one man cannot win the match by himself.
With that in mind, here’s a quick summary of what others managed to accomplish in Sunday’s match between Seven Star CC and National CC at Randall’s Island.
Seven Star CC lost the toss but were sent in to bat first. With the absence of their regular opener Mike Sewdial. Former USA U-19 captain, the hard hitting Greg Sewdial (56) and Moshin Khan (119 n.o) opened the innings, Seven Star scored 108 without loss at the end of the 14th over. Unfortunately, after the break the batting crumbled a bit as Seven Star lost a few wickets in quick succession. But, that man, Moshin Khan held steady at one end and anchored the innings to lead his team to a total of 235/7 in 35 overs.
With such a massive total to chase on a slow low bouncing pitch, National CC tried to make a game of it with their batting, but led by their opening bowling attack of Tim Persaud and Nadir Mohammad, Seven Star CC made the task almost impossible. With timely wicket contributions from Sarmad Kahn, Vijay (Knapp) Seonarine (capt.), Krish Ketwaroo, Suresh Haripersaud, and Ritesh Patel – National CC were bowled out for 131.
