Shivnarine Chanderpaul Joins Legends New York Tour
New York, NY – July 2, 2015: Legendary West Indies Test cricketer Shivnarine Chanderpaul (pictured above) has joined the long list of West Indies legends scheduled to participate in two limited overs matches in New York on August 1 and 2, as A Class Events brings the West Indies Cricket Legends Tour to New York, following a similar successful tour in Fort Lauderdale, FL, earlier this year.

Shivnarine Chanderpaul played 164 Tests, 268 ODIs and 22 T20s while wearing the colors of the West Indies, and scoring 11,867 Test runs. The left-handed batsman has contributed more than two decades of cricket to the West Indies, and is revered by old and young fans alike in the Caribbean and around the world. The Guyanese-born cricketer who made his West Indies Test debut against England at Georgetown, Guyana on March 17, 1994, has 30 Test centuries and 11 ODI tons.
With a Test average of 51.37, Chanderpaul is the second highest scoring all-time West Indies batsman behind Brian Charles Lara, and only by 87 runs. The quiet Chanderpaul familiarly called Tiger by countless fans, has represented Derbyshire, Durham, Khulna Royal Bengals, Lancashire, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Stanford Superstars, Uva Next, Warwickshire, Warwickshire 2nd XI, and his native Guyana. More recently, he has represented Guyana Amazon Warriors in the Caribbean Premier League.

Joining Shivnarine Chanderpaul on the West Indies Cricket Legends Tour of New York, are Sir Garfield Sobers, Gordon Greenidge, Alvin Kallicharran, Adam Sandford, Mervyn Dillion, Gus Logie, Deryck Murray, Carl Hooper, Courtney Walsh, Desmond Haynes, Richie Richardson, Darren Ganga, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Pedro Collins, Corey Collymore, Mahendra Nagamootoo, Larry Gomes, Clayton Lambert and Faoud Bacchus.

The tour kicks off with a Gala Banquet & Dinner on Friday, July 31st at Antun’s, 96-43 Springfield Boulevard, Queens, NY, followed by limited overs matches on Saturday and Sunday, August 1 and 2 at Idlewild Cricket Ground, 147th Avenue and 223rd Street, Rosedale, Queens, NY 11422.

Tickets for the Gala Banquet & Dinner are now available at $125 each, if purchased on or before July 10, 2015. The gala includes an open bar, a sumptuous dinner and dancing to the sounds of DJ Mad Man Maddy. You will have the opportunity to take pictures with the West Indies Legends and ask them questions. In addition, the Legends will be signing autographs. Tickets are Limited for both events, so get yours now.

Tickets for each match day are $40 each – General admission, $80 VIP and $125 VVIP.
General admission tickets for league members can be purchased via their Leagues at $25 each, no later than Monday, July 27, 2015.
