Silicon Valley Stallions Captures OGT20 2018 Title

Silicon Valley Stallions

The 2018 Owen Graham Memorial T20 tournament successfully conducted over the Memorial Day weekend of May 26-27-28 here in the suburb of Fremont in the San Francisco Bay Area, Northern California.

This was the fifth edition of the OGT20 as it is known now, the first was played in 2014 as a fund raiser for our coach Owen Graham (OG) who was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a form of bone cancer.

Owen passed away during the tournament in 2015 over the Memorial Day weekend and since then we have named it as the OG Memorial Tournament. The tournament has grown in strength year over the years and this year we had a visiting team from Toronto, Canada playing in our tournament.

Eight teams participated in the recently concluded tournament and most are regular members of the Northern California Cricket Association, the premier league in these parts.

The victorious Silicon Valley Stallions.

Former Pakistan international bowler Mohammed Asif participated in the tournament playing with All Stars CC. The tournament was played at Seabreeze Park, Northgate Park and the Fremont Central Park Cricket Ground, arguably the best cricket ground here which earned high praise from the former international cricketer.

The finals was played on Monday May 28th at Seabreeze Park in Union City, CA and included as many as 12 players who were trained by OG as juniors. The finals was won by Silicon Valley Stallions, captained by former USA U19 player Pranay Suri which also included Fiji national fast bowler Imran Khan and OG’s nephew Gary Graham who has played for the Jamaican national cricket team in the Red Stripe cup of yesteryears. The finals was telecast live over the internet and reached more than 7000 views.
