Ali Khan has been ruled out of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifier B in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe due to injury. Khan sadly suffered a fracture of the right arm due to an impact of a ball struck back at him while bowling versus Jersey in the opening match of the tournament. Following medical assessment in Zimbabwe, Khan has been advised of a bone fracture and will return home today from Bulawayo for further medical treatment.
Khan has been replaced by the Morrisville Raptors Bowling All-Rounder, Siva Kumar who has been called into action for the United States of America for the first time and is currently en route to Zimbabwe. The 32 year old had a strong inaugural season in Minor League Cricket last year and is known to hit good areas with the ball and is handy with the bat at middle order.
USA have won their first two group matches in Group A of the T20 World Cup Qualifier and already sealed their place in one of the two semi-finals on Friday that will decide the final two qualification spots for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup to be held in Australia later in the year.
