Sunrise Hold Off Titans

Titans winning the toss decided and send in Sunrise to bat as Roopnarine Dayal and Ryan Ramjas looked ready to for the task. Dayal and Ryan welcome Deoram of Titans with the face of the bat as they both hit boundaries scoring 14 runs in the 1st over to start the game. Ryan who was settling and Kris Durga bowling at 3rd down was accurate as he bowled Ryan for 12 in the 3rd over with the score at 22.
Sunrise Captain Deryck Basdeo joined Dayal who was connecting for some sweet cover drives that were racing to the boundary. In the 4th over Deryck played a solid on drive shot to short mid wicket but was caught brilliantly with the score at 32.
Dayal who looked dangerous was joined by Kalif Salim. In the 7th over I. Ali bowling at #5 quickly pickup Kalif and Dayal who batted brilliantly setting the batting foundation for his team scoring 29 as the score read 54 for 4.
Wahab Hussein Sunrise vice captain picked up where Dayal left off as he anchor the batting for his team picking up timely boundaries. Sunrise continue to lost quick wickets as Bengi picked up the wicket of Stanley Lloyd and Shane Manbodh in the 10th over and the score at 70.
Selwyn Cheong joined Wahab who was striking the ball well picking up the run rate. Wahab after hitting flurries of boundaries miss time a shot and was caught at square leg of the bowling of Benji for a solid 29 with the score 92 for 7 in the 12th over. With wickets falling freely Sunrise managed a total score of 107 all out.
Leading the bowling for Titan was Chris Deodat who took 4 for 10 followed by Benji who was 3 for 13.
In reply R. Rafeek and Z. Amit opened for Titan and looked in a hurry to obtain the required total facing Kalif Salim and Stanley Lloyd. Rafeek start off with double and boundary against Kalif as Amit showed no mercy against Shane when he was introduced. These two batsmen were on track with the required run rate as Rafeek was run out for 16 with the score at 38 in the 5 overs. S. Ramsaran joined Amit who was leading the batting offensive for this team. With Deryck in the attack he had Amit caught at short cover for 23 and three deliveries later bowled Ramkissoon Titan with the score 55 for 3 in 8th over’s. Ryan Ramjas bowling at the 4th spot bowled Sukhu and in the same over I. Ali was ran out with the score 64 for 5 in the 9th over.
At this point Sunrise bowlers were not only picking up wicket but turned things in hurry against Titan batsmen increasing the required run rate. Ramsarran who stuck around for a while was caught for 14 off Shane. As Stanly was introduced back and proven to be deadly clean bowl Chris Durga and Haridat for back to back wickets with the score at 71 for 8 in 11 over’s. At this point Stanley squeezed the air out of the Titan team who were in disbelief. As B. Mohan was run out Stanley came back right after and bowled R. Ramkisoon for 12 wrapping up Titan for 92 in 12.3 over’s.
Sunrise bowlers were on target as Stanly continue with his accurate and impeccable bowling taking 3 for 5. Deryck Basdeo who was 2 for 7 had superb bowling which his players welcome.
