By Morris Seecharan

Deryck posture looked poised to set the offensive tone for Sunrise and Cheong ready to follow. Deryck exploded for quick boundaries to increase his team run rate as Cheong was right behind with his own fire work as well hitting back to back to back boundaries. Together Deryck and Cheong turn the tides on Waves bowler, as they raced the score to 77 for 2 in the 10 over.
It was artful batting display by Deryck and Cheong as they assaulted Waves bowlers up to the 14ht overs as Cheong was bowled for 30 going after L. Bisram with the score at 97 for 3. Cheong 76 runs partnership with Deryck was pivotal for Sunrise as they setup a solid batting foundation for the rest of his teammates. Deryck sparks on his bat did not cool off as he batting repertoire was on full display striking the ball all around Kissena Park. After 41 runs Husain was bowled for 13 in 19 overs by B. Hiralall with the score at 138 for 4. Deryck Basdeo was bowled for a blistering 56 runs leading his team batting offensive. Wave’s batsmen knew that they have to get keep up with the required run rate to stand a chance in reaching their target opened with R. Ali, and R. Laka. However, Kris and Khemraj Somaru started Sunrise bowling with great effect. Khemraj in his first over had Laka caught behind at 1. B Hiralall came to the wicket looked very hot hitting a four and six to get off the mark.
Together with Ali they showed resistance to Sunrise bowlers. However, with a thoughtful l field adjustment by Deryck, Hiralall was sent packing as he was caught beautifully at long on by Khemraj off the bowling of Kris for 16. Sheriff was removed by Khemraj for 2 and Ali was run out as Waves found themselves in trouble facing Sunrise bowler. R. Rocky and S. Ali paired up showing resistance taking the score to 10 overs 58 for 4.
Ricky Deenu was brought in the bowling action picking up Ali for 16 and breakup the only material partnership for Waves. Khemraj who was bowling with stride clean bowl Rocky who lead Waves batting made 20. Khemraj bowling on target in his last over had Aftab caught, and proved to be the most penetrating bowler for Sunrise. Between running out themselves and Ricky bowling L. Bisram the Waves batsmen showed no resistance to Sunrise bowling. Batting 19.2 over Waves could not propel their batting as they were bowled out 100 for 10.
It was very convincing win for Sunrise as their batting offensive, bowling and fielding all come together for this important win.
