The Thunder Foundation, the charitable arm of the Big Bash League’s Sydney Thunder, has partnered with Love Cricket, Inc. to support the upcoming Girls Cricket League in Lauderhill, Florida on June 16-17, 2018.
As part of this partnership, the Thunder Foundation donated branded Sydney Thunder cricket clothing for players participating in the under 14 girls T20 tournament.
Co-organizer, Nadia Gruny, is elated about the impact the donation would have on the girls.
“The folks at Sydney Thunder are thrilled to support girls cricket development in the US. It is the first time they are supporting any initiative in the US and we are super excited for the girls to get the gear. If at least one girl walks away from the weekend with the goal of making it to the Women’s Big Bash League, then we would have succeeded,” says Nadia.
The Girls Cricket League will feature a panel of senior US women cricketers to share their experiences with the players. The games will be streamed live right here at www.facebook.com/usawomenscricket.
“From the inception of this tournament, our goal was to make this a very memorable experience for the girls. The support has been amazing so far and we’re looking forward to the girls feeling really special when the weekend is over,” says Joan Alexander-Serrano, co-organizer of the tournament.
This tournament is made possible by the generous support of Metallica Commodities Corp., Cloudalyze Solutions, LLC., DX Sports, Bedessee Sporting Goods, Dreamcricket.com, Worldwide Sports Management, Gold Coast Cricket League, Break Awae Kru, and Florida All Cricket.
