A team effort by the Achievers Real Estate NY, Inc. sponsored Liberty Spots Club contributed to a crushing 201 runs victory over Phantoms Cricket Club.
Winning the toss and electing to bat first at Flushing LSC suffered two early blows losing openers Dilly Khilawan and Bose Persaud by the 5th over.
Micheal Noble and Danesh Deonarain set about a rebuilding effort to see LSC to 80 before Noble departed in the 14th over looking to up the scoring rate. Deonarain would continue on his innings as he rotated the strike and scored the odd boundaries.
Imtiaz Hassan coming in at number five took on the attacking roll and would put on 91 for the 4th wicket with Deonarain who got past 50 during the stand. Deonarain survived a few close chances but struck 5 fours in his innings of 56.
The LSC innings finished off strong after a short rain interruption with Hassan’s 3 fours and 3 sixes in his 48 and Terrence Madramootoo blasting a quick fire 47 which included 3 fours and 4 massive sixes.
Liberty SC finished on 256 for 9 in the rain reduced innings of 32 overs. Bowling for Phantoms CC Shakeeb Murtaza and Kamal S picked up 3 wickets each.
Phantoms CC never looked settled in their chase as they lost wickets at regular interval. Bowling for LSC Noble and Thakur Singh accounted for the first seven wickets before Madramootoo cleaned up the tail and wrapped up the chase with only 55 runs on the cards. Noble finished with 4 for 15 off his 7 overs, Singh 3 for 20 off his 7, Madramootoo 2 for 9 off 2.4 overs and Vickey Khilawan 1 for 9 off 1 over.
Liberty SC will take on Atlantis CC in the 5th round of play while Phantoms CC looks to regroup against East Side Warriors.
