The Team USA Women’s squad has been announced for the ICC Women’s T20 Qualifier hosted by Scotland in August this year by ICC Americas’ USA Project.
USA Women’s Selector, Patricia Whittaker, has been pleased with what she has seen from the athletes, “It has been very exciting to see the development of our women’s players over the last 12 months. The camps and combines have been terrific development opportunities, and the final trial in Indianapolis showed the selectors that USA has a strong group of passionate and talented women’s cricketers.”
Commenting on the squad itself, Whittaker said “The selection panel believe we have a strong final squad that will represent USA very well in Europe. Competition for spots is always healthy and there are a number of very good players who did not make the final squad, hopefully those ladies work hard to make the most of the next opportunity. We wish the ladies and coaching staff all the best for a great preparation and hope the fans of USA cricket get behind Team USA to progress one step closer to the Women’s T20 World Cup.”
