Third Edition of MECCC Charity Game To Be Held on June 30th
After the grand success of last two editions of the Malayalee Ecumenical Church Cricket Championship (MECCC), the third edition will be held on June 30th at Cunningham Park, Queens.
With the theme of bringing faith and sports together for a good cause, MECCC will donate all the proceeds from the tournament to Ronald McDonald House of Long Island.
A total of eight teams, representing eight different churches in New York and New Jersey will participate in this tournament, to be conducted in the Super 8s knockout format, with 8 overs per game, and 8 players per team.
The eight teams that will compete for the coveted MECCC trophy are St. Stephens Knanaya Church, Hempstead, Vincent De Paul Church, Elmont, St. Thomas Knanaya Church, Clifton, NJ, St. Gregorios Orthodox Church, Valley Stream, Staten island Marthomma Church, St Mary’s Kna Knights Haverstraw, St John’s Marthoma Church,Queens VIllage, CSI Malayalam Congregation of Greater NY, Seaford.
The grand sponsor of the tournament is JayTom Realty. The other sponsors include TLJ Sports, Primerica, Optimum Rehab, Riya Travels and CB Vijaya Photography.
The organizers are hoping that the fun and family atmosphere will attract a good crowd to watch the exciting matches that are in store.
