Dayal, Shane, and Wahab Dazzle Ranchers As Sunrise Secured Playoff Spot

In a must win game for Sunrise to make the playoff Dayal, Shane, and Wahab dazzled Ranchers as Sunrise win four in a row. Ranchers winning the toss put Sunrise to bat as Masood Salim and Roopnarine Dayal opened with aggression scored quickly to set a good offensive foundation for Sunrise.
In the 4th over Masood driving Sagie to deep long on was caught just short of the boundary line as Sunrise lost their 1st wicket with the score at 29. Seeram Persaud joined Dayal who turned up the batting offensive and they batting safely building a favorable run rate. Dayal a well crafted and patience opening batsman showed some aggression with his bat leading Seeram as they batted safely keeping a competitive run rate. Seeram who looked solid hitting a six to square leg was caught in the 9th over with the 60 for 2.
Dayal was joined by Wahab Hussein a veteran of the game and they both took control batting responsibly. Wahab partnered with Dayal who was exhibiting great posture and resilience in his batting was very fruitful. Dayal being the aggressors capitalize on his cover drive which was his best shot in his batting repertoire flashed away the Ranchers bowlers to the boundaries commandingly. Wahab saw the aggression of Dayal took the supporting role moving the ball around was scoring timely boundaries as well. As we witnessed the first of Sunrise partnership blossomed to the 15 over half Dayal and Wahab accelerated Sunrise to 108 for 2 with Dayal commandingly leading the way.
Dayal and Wahab showed no sign of slowing down their batting aggression continue to score commandingly against Ranchers bowlers. Building on an important partnership for 72 Dayal and Wahab took the score to the 19th over as Wahab was bowled for 37 off the bowling N Singh with the score at 128 for 3. Wahab contribution an important knock was instrumental in laying a solid batting foundation with Dayal as Shane Manbodh joined Dayal. Shane looked settled from the onset staged a batting onslaught against Ranchers bowlers as he explodes for quick runs. Dayal who had all the answer for Ranchers bowlers picked up his half ton, and continued with Shane accelerating Sunrise score. Shane blazing away at Ranchers bowlers connected for flurries of boundaries and this pair spells trouble for Ranchers.
Most importantly Dayal and Shane staged yet another significant partnership of 96 runs, as they batted to the depth of Sunrise allotted over. Shane hit a lightning half century as he was bowled in the 30th over for 51. Dayal determined to stay to the end batted the full 30 over with a powerful knock of 87 not out. Sunrise ended with their batting offensive at 230 for 5, as Dayal enjoyed the limelight coming very close to a century.
N. Singh lead his team bowling bowled for 6-0-27-2 and S. Singh followed with 6-0-46-2.
Rancher faced with high mountain to climb saw T. Thakur stumps plugged out playing a return stroke straight back to Sunrise opening bowler Kalif Salim as he was caught wondering out of the crease with the score at 4 in the 1st over. P. Percy was caught in the 4th over off the bowling of Deenu with score at 30 in the 4th over. N. Singh would stand up to Sunrise bowler as he exploded for boundaries trying to move his team toward target. Sunrise bowler did not make it easy on themselves as they were bowling excessive wide. Compounded with unusual exurbant extras Ranchers were racing away toward Sunrise target as N. Singh was pounding away at Sunrise bowler. Loosing additional wickets Rancher finished the 15 over at 122 for 5.
N. Singh started Ranchers second half with the same momentum racing away to the target. Ricky was introduce back right after the half and had N. Singh caught brilliantly at long on by Harold Deokinanan with the score 138 for 6 in the 18th over. While the Ranchers batsman was not scoring earned runs Sunrise continue to pile on the extra making it more difficult on them. S. Singh would show resistance as he picked up the batting for his team. However his batting spell was cut short as he was run out by a direct hit for Masood for 19 with the score 146 for 7 in 18 over.
Ranchers with a favorable run rate were in good position to reach Sunrise score however Sunrise was having success picking up wickets. M. Singh batting at #8 would try and close out the game for Ranchers, as he batted wisely trying to use the bottom order to create an opportunity to win. M. Singh showed sign of success as he caught brilliantly by Dayal at square leg in the 20th over for 21 off the bowling of Deenu with the score at 165 for 8. Ranchers would breathe their last breath as Shane Manbodh and Deryck Basdeo wrapped up the side. Ranchers was all for 202 in 24.1 ran out of wickets, but came very close to victory as Sunrise give up 69 extras to aid them.
It was ecstatic win for the Sunrise team as they pulled together 4 straight wins to earn a playoff spot.
For the 3rd consecutive week Ricky Deenu lead his team bowling with a spell of 6-1-27-4, Shane followed with 4-0-31-2, as Deryck Basdeo went for 5.1-1-34-2.
Tiwari Ton Secure Playoff Spot For Falcons

The weather was beautiful; the humidity was low and a great day for cricket. Falcons played their last 30 over season’s game against Lions B team at North Conduit. Falcons won the toss and chose to bat. Falcons lost two early wickets giving Lions B great hope and expectation. R. Singh was bowled by N. Persaud for 2 and V. Ramnarine was bowled by Ravi for 3.
The hopes and expectation were shattered for Lions B when Sarfraz Ally came to the crease to meet with the opening batsman Narotam (Krishna) Tiwari. These two batsmen put up a strong partnership of over 150 runs. Sarfraz was dominant with his batting skills. He was hitting the ball out of the ball park on several occasions with big sixes and some beautiful cover drives to earn his 84 runs. He was caught and bowled by D. Persaud from a ball that popped up to him.
Tiwari was then joined by Arif Harun and he made a quick 23 runs with two sixes. Tiwari continued with his relentless batting performance, hitting the ball in every corner to earn his 100. He was run out in the 28 overs for 113 runs. Falcons batted the allotted 30 overs for 261 runs with 2 wickets to spare.
Lions B replied with 156 runs for 9 wickets in their allotted 30 overs. Naresh 43 caught off Bipat and D. Persaud 50 not out were the only contributors for Lions B. V. Ramnarine took 3 wickets for 27 runs while N. Bipat took 2 wickets for 35 runs.
Country Boys Defeated Essequibo X1

Country Boys defeated Essequibo X1 by 34 runs. Country Boys batted first scoring 145 all out in 29.1 overs. Batting for Country Boys: Garcel Dow 22, Tony Fernandez 21, Garcia Leacock 18 and Eubie Chance 17 not out. Bowling for Essequibo X1 C. Johnson took 4 wickets for 22 runs, Gulliver 2 for 27. When Essequibo X1 batted, their inning was highlighted by Hooper 35 and Gulliver 24. Essequibo X1 was finally all out for 111 runs in 25.5 overs. Bowling for Country Boys Y. Giddings took 3 for 17, Andrew Jerrick 2 for 21 and Ivor Chan 3 for 12.
