It’s confirmed that the 2010 USACA Under-19 Junior Nationals previously scheduled for November 12th – 14th to be held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida is postponed until further notice. According to a source, the youth tournament will be stage in December of 2010, not sure if this is factual information.
The ICC Americas U-19 World Cup Qualifier is scheduled to take place in February, and the USA will have to select an Under-19 team to participant in this tournament. We would hope that all the youngsters are given opportunities to display their cricketing skills before the best possible squad is selected to represent USA in the first step for qualification to the 2012 U-19 World Cup.
It’s very disheartened to remain optimistic, because of all the “drama” pertaining to United States Cricket. There may be many reasons as to why such an important tournament would be postponed, but as a fan or a follower of US cricket, are you surprised? Off course not, youths are again placed on the back burner, and who shares the blame?
