New York Region U-19 player Trevor Singh registered his first unbeaten century on Saturday, October 16th at Baisley Cage during a nail-biting warm-up match against a Zamin Amin’s XI squad.
Singh batted the entire 35 overs and looked comfortable at the crease. Many would questioned the quality of teams played against when scoring a century, but making a century in a cricket match is special for anyone, and Mr. Trevor Singh should be very proud of his milestone, and continue striving to excel at the highest level. Former USA Under-15 player Trevis Ross, and former USA Under-19 player Regis Burton scored 71, and 73 respectively in a losing cause.
Amin’s squad was comprised of all under-19 youths, and there was a lot of positive that the youngsters learnt from the experienced player of this magnitude. The former USA captain must be commended for his assistant in preparing the youngsters for the 2010 USACA Junior Nationals scheduled for November 12th – 14th to be held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
