Here is the summary for round two of the Metropolitan Cricket League played on 5/15/16.
At Gateway: Villagers Pacesetters vs Suburbia Sports Club
After winning the toss home team Villagers elected to take first strike and posted a mammoth 353 for 7 from allotted 37 overs. The star of the inning was discarded USA International Dennis “Blacks” Evans. The right handed stroke player who was returning to Villagers after leaving the club over 10 years ago mark the occasion with a masterclass 141 (91 balls 10×4 and 8×6). He was supported by the veteran duo of Melroy Kingston and Richard Staple with 46* and 45 respectively. Navinash Mahadeo finished with 3 for 60 from 6 Overs. In reply Suburbia was bundle out for a partly 74 with Dino Chooweenam picking 4 for 5 on his Villagers debut, all 4 wickets came with consecutive balls. Villagers winning by 279 runs.

At IdleWild: Progressive Cricket Club vs Island Wide Cricket Club
Batting first Island Wide posted 229 for 8 from 40 overs, Winston Myers top score with 60, as Germaine Allen finish with 4 for 63. In reply progressive got to their target in 34.1 overs, thanks to a top score of 88 from Patrick Dewar, Micah Narine made an even 50. Victor Mangal finish with 3 for 38. Progressive winning by 4 wickets.

At Marine Park: Spice Island Cricket Club vs Queens United Sports Club
Queens United batted first and posted 237 for 4 from alloted40 overs, Courtney Elliott top score with an even 100. In reply Spice Island reached 216 for 7 in 33 overs when bad light stopped play. Spice Island winning on the better run rate ruling.

At Walker Park: Staten Island vs Lucas
Staten Island made 174 all out with Fahad Mughal top scoring with 47, as the wickets were shared among the Lucas bowlers. In reply Lucas got to 176 for 6 with 2 balls to spare, Damion Reid making 67. Lucas winning by 4 wickets.

At Van Cortlandt Park: Big Apple Sports Club vs Sheffield Cricket Club
In a one sided affair new comers Big Apple ramp over a helpless Sheffield who only field 7 players. Sheffield made only 45 and Big Apple ramp to the target in 6.5 overs for no loss, Safraz Esau unbeaten on 25.

At Westbury High School: Westbury Cricket Club vs Pioneer Cricket Club
Pioneer batted first and was dismiss for 214, Twain Walters made 75 supported by Tristan Massena 59. Javien Thomas finished with 4 for 15 and Joseph Brown 2 for 26. In reply Westbury ramp to 220 for 3 in 27.5 overs thanks to a second ton in as many games from former West Indies under-19 player Tristan Coleman who made 101 supported by Javien Thomas with an unbeaten 43.

At Floyd Bennett: Cosmos Cricket Club vs Lions Cricket Club
Cosmos batted first and posted a challenging 219 for 4, thanks to an unbeaten century of 101 from young Amjad Khan, Fasil Taj and T. Rana contributed 23 and 28 respectively as Rodwell Busgith finish with 1 for 15. In reply Lions overhaul the target finishing on 222 for 7 with 9 balls to spare. The run chase was led by former Leeward Island youth opener Dave Hart, falling 10 runs short of what would’ve being a deserve century. Not to be left out the party was 56 year old former West Indies test player Everton Mattis. Matto as he’s called turned back the hands of time stroking a brilliant unbeaten half-century of 69 to see his team home by 3 wickets. Dave Mohammed finished with 2 for 33.
