Amar Singh Dominate With Second Half Century

Amar Singh continues to dominate and for the second straight week he blasted a half century, 51 not out versus Horizon one week earlier and last Sunday he struck 83 not out off Essequibo bowling.
Amar Singh hit an unbeaten 83.
Essequibo winning the toss and asked United Stars to bat, Amar Singh and Chris Ramlall opened the batting for United Stars.
The Essequibo bowling was on target and the batsmen had to settle for the singles and doubles early in the innings. As batsmen adjusted to the conditions they began to stroking the ball around and the score began to look a lot better. Amar was in fine form as he played some cover drives and pull shots.
The Essequibo bowlers bowled without any luck and after 13 overs the score was 77 without loss. They were finally able to get the breakthrough in the 18th over; Chris Ramlall was bowled by Benjamin for 61 that including 8 boundaries. It was a solid 143 runs opening partnership between Chris and Amar.
Ian Bhagwandin went to the crease and join Amar and soon after Ian was run out for 7, Bobby Pahalad was bowled by Langhorne for 1. The new batsman Dost Mangru was bowled for 3 by Langhorne for his second wicket. Ravin Ivan scored a quick 19 before he was bowled by Johnson.
After 25 overs, Amar Singh was left on 83 not out, he hit 13 boundaries and the total for United Stars was 190 for 5. Bowling for Essequibo Linden Langhorne took 2 for 29, C. Johnson 1 for 27 and E. Benjamin 1 for 32 runs.
Batting for Essequibo D. Hooper and I. Buttler put on a partnership of 53 runs before Hooper was bowled by Bobby Pahalad for 21. A few overs later Buttler was bowled by Ravin Ivan for 19. The Essequibo team gave United Stars a good fight and almost pulls off a big upset. C. Johnson top score with 35 runs and D. Buttler 20 at the end of the Essequibo 25th overs they were 185 for 9.
Bowling for United Stars Bobby Pahalad 5 over 11 runs 2 wickets S. Kayoon 5 overs and 2 for 18, Trevor Ramoutar and Ravin Ivan took 1 wicket each. United Stars give away 51 extra in this game and the won the game by 5 runs. United Stars are undefeated and will take on Untouchable in their next game who are also undefeated.
East Coast XI Pummeled Renegade With Tulsiram Blistering Century

In the New York Softball Cricket League Division 2A 25 Overs competition match played on Sunday at North Conduit Park between East Coast X1 and Renegade. East Coast X1 emerged victorious with a 35 runs margin in a close and exciting finish.
It was a beautiful day and the spectators could not have asked for more. Both innings were punctuated with regular boundaries of sixes and fours in a high scoring entertainer.
N. Tulsieram hit 11 sixes and 7 fours in his 110.
Right-Handed, hard-hitting batsman N. Tulsieram entertain the large crowd with a wonderful display of batting and top score for East Coast X1 with a blistering 110 out of a total of 224. He blasted 11 sixes and 7 fours in this magnificent stand before being caught in the deep. S. Rampaul contributed 37 and bagged 3 wickets for 27.
Renegade fought back in a rearguard action but fell short after managing 189 all out. Johnny Sookraj top scored with 81 and D. Morgan 46.
Harold Upset Sunrise With 56 Not Out

A few drop catches and a sixth wicket partnership of 91 runs between Harold and Leonard Vasquez was all that was needed for Phantom to defeat Sunrise. Phantom a breakaway team from Sunrise and when these two teams play each other, there is always excitement in the air as the players adrenaline would be at its highest level.
The last encounter between these two teams, Sunrise made it looked easy as they crushed Phantom to eliminate them from the playoffs. As the two umpires made their way to the middle the large crowd on hand took their seats and when Phantom opening batsmen Massod Salim and Terry Sital stepped onto the field the crowd roars with excitements.
Harold and Leonard Vasquez had a partnership of 91 against Sunrise.
Kalif Salim took the ball for Sunrise and Sital got a single off the fourth ball, the only run of the over. K. Samaroo was superb and on target, bowling a maiden in his first over, Masood knock the first ball from his brother Kalif second over, over the fence. Kalif and Samaroo bowled well but without any luck and after the sixth over a bowling change was made with the score on 25.
Ricky Dennu was introduced into the attack; in the last encounter he did the damage, this time the Phantom batsmen were more prepared for him. Ricky a bowler, who swings the ball both ways, had little luck as the batsmen were prepared to play out his overs and this frustrated him. The fourth bowler Shane Manbodh, a slower bowler who depend more on his spin, struck in his first over, Sital went for a big heave and the ball took the top edge and he was caught by the wicketkeeper for 13.
The new batsman Deodat Boodhan, never looked comfortable at the crease, tries to drive Ricky over the top and was only able to reach Kalif running to his right at deep long off and Boodhan departs for 1 run. Masood was trying to keep the pressure on and took the attack to the bowlers with his aggressive style, he was able to put away Shane a few times but in the end Shane had him trapped and he was out caught for 33 with the score on 54.
The fall of two quick wickets bring some excitement to the Sunrise fielders. This excitement was short lived, while the four bowlers used so far was able to restrict the batsmen, bad rotating of the bowlers by the Sunrise captain helped the batting side. The fifth bowler was brought on in the eighteenth over, Derek Basdeo took the ball and his slow spin was not enough to get the job done.
Sasenarine was caught of Shane for 5 and this brings the pair of Harold and Vasquez together. Vasquez a good striker of the ball, on this day he was out done by Harold. Harold a small person in size, all he needed was a little bit of luck (like the lottery man) he took the challenge to the bowlers mainly Kalif and Basdeo. Kalif bowled a very bad second spell and finish his spell for 43 runs and no wicket and Basdeo gave away 35 runs.
Shane was the pick of the bowlers for Sunrise, he finish his spell with 4 wickets for 30 runs, his figures could have been better if not for some fielders with very buttery fingers. Both Harold and Vasquez took advantage of their chances and made good, scoring 56 and 31 runs not out each respectively.
When Sunrise took the crease they knew that a target of 167 was within their reach, they have a solid batting line up. Dyal and Seeram, the Sunrise opening batsmen never gave the scorer a chance to take their seats, Javid Salim fourth ball had Seeram caught for a duck. The new batsman Kalif Salim, a good jovial sportsman who plays his game hard, tried desperately to deny the bowlers any further success.
Dyal and Kalif looked good and settled for the next six overs, Harold was brought into the attack and he struck in his first over, he removed Dyal off stump and he was gone for 15 with the score on 32. Vasquez was the fourth bowler used and with his first ball, Harris was caught for 6. This brought the Sunrise captain Derek Basdeo to the crease, four runs later Boodhan removed Basdeo middle stump and he was gone for 3. Shane came to the crease and played some big heaves and missed and when he made contact the ball went straight into the fielder hands and he was on his way with a duck.
At the water break Phantom was in full control with seven wickets gone for 52 runs. When play resumed whatever was in the water definitely had an effect on the fielders as they looked very sloppy in the field as a few catches was floored, it was as though they shook the hands of the Sunrise players a little too early.
An eight wicket partnership between Samaroo and Ricky added 36 valuable runs, until Ricky was caught of Sase for 7. Ramesh came to the crease and three balls later Sase remove his stumps for another duck. By this time it was clear and if you try hard, you could have heard the fat lady fine tuning her song.
But Sunrise was not going to go out easy as they fought for the next fours overs and added 19 runs for the last wicket, with Samaroo getting 20 and young Alex unbeaten on 4 and of 107 all out. Harold took 3 for 18, Sase 2- 14, J. Salim, D. Boodhan, L. Vasquez, L. Khemraj and A. Doma took a wicket each.
It was a wonderful game between two good teams and a bunch of great guys. These two teams will reach again in a game being play over the Memorial weekend, in honor of the late Sunrise Manager Mr. Hargobin Singh.
Another Victory For Crown XI

Crown XI won the toss and took field first. The Falcons opening batsmen immediately went on the attack and after their allotted 25 overs they had a total of 184 for 9 wickets. Opening the batting for Falcon was A. Khan and N. Tiwari with an outstanding partnership of 85 runs.
P. Dhaniram had match figures of 4 for 33.
A. Khan top score for Falcons with 50 and he got good support from N. Tiwari with 41 and S. Alli chipped in with 27, V. Ramnarine and Arif scored 15 runs each.
Bowling for Crown XI P. Dhaniram took 4 for 33, B. Singh 2 for 26 and R. Williams 2 for 15
Falcon was confident and knew that they were in a great position having scored 184 runs. Crown XI opening batman and the vice captain Sonna Harrichand. Once again did not hesitate to turn the heat up with a rapid 76 runs.
Followed with marvelous batting performances from R. Alli 15, B. Singh33, and H. Azeez 22 not out. And bowling for Falcom Navin, Eric and Navin Bipat took 1 wicket each.
Evolution Win Again

Evolution won the toss against Flasherz Square and decided to bat after a shaky start by loosing few quick wickets. The vice Captain F. Alli went in at # 6 and played a superb inning by hitting 5- 6’s and 3-4’s with a total of 59 runs not out.
Then join by the manger D. Jitlal making a quick 35 and was bowled by R. Rajpaul. Following by Steven Singh making a blistering 23 not out. With the last deliver F. Alli hitting a 6 and ending the game with the total of 186.
Next Generation Survive Against Survival

Next Generation won the toss and batted first and score 192 all out. M. Maraj 69, N. Seepersaud 19, S Rampersaud 35 they where the top scorer. Survival reply with 179 all out. F. Haroun 22, Z. Haroun 46, S. Panday 24.
This is next Generation third win with one loss. Bowling for Next Generation R. Dhaniram , S. Rampersaud and N. Seepersaud took two wicket each while S. Dhaniram, Azeez and S. Joseph took one each.
Survival bowler Sunil Panday took 4 for 44 and S. Dhani also grabbed 4 for 28, R. Hemrath and M Basdeo took one wicket each.
Young Warriors Destroy Buccaneers

Last Sunday Young Warriors took on Buccaneers at Rockaway Park, Buccaneers was unbeaten after three games but they offer very little resistance to Young Warriors.
Young Warriors batted first and made 154 runs for 9 wickets in 25 overs, Dara Singh top score with 34 not out and Mahendra from Buccaneers taking 3 wickets for 21 runs in his 5 overs.
Buccaneers were bowled out for 45 runs in 10.5 overs. Avichal was the best bats with 8 runs not out and Suresh Persaud from Young Warriors was the best bowler with 6 wickets for 12 runs in 5 overs.
