Under-19 Practice And Evaluation Session Set For June 29

The Cricket Committee of the New York Cricket Region has announced that there will be a practice and evaluation session at Gateway Park in Brooklyn on Saturday, June 29, 2013 for Under 19 and Under 15 cricketers. The program will start at 11:00 am and everyone is asked to be there by 10:30 am.

The  session will include tests of cricket skills, speed, endurance and technical aspects of the game. There will be bowling tests for medium pacers and spinners and batsmen will be evaluated against medium pace and spin bowling. There will also be a focus on catching, ground fielding and throwing.

One of the objectives of the program is to select four franchise teams who will participate in the New York Region Elite Under 19 tournament for the Chubb Bedessee Trophy and other awards.

Each franchise team will be administered by a management and coaching team. The tournament is also open to Under 19 cricketers from the Atlantic and Northeast Regions.

The five players who have been selected to the current USA team are expected to attend.
