The USA Cricket Academy today announced the launching of another of its cricket development initiatives. This one will focus on developing Under-23 cricket players in the USA.
USA Global Cricket Academy ( USAGCA) has a tentative U23 tour of India at the end of this year, in the pipeline, as well as U23 tours to other countries like Australia, Sri Lanka, South Africa, England, etc. Interested players are asked to join the academy via email at usacricket@mail.com
The USAGCA ’s management is open to discussing potential plans with prospective future USA players. A total of 14 slots will be available for the initial tour of India, and will be available to USA citizens or Green Card holders only.
After USAGCA resumed their youth cricket International tours with the 2014-15 Grand tour of India for U17 & U19 teams, and the recently concluded U13, U15 and U18 tour of Guyana, the Academy is now in the process of planning more International tours and a National Membership drive program.
USAGCA is a registered 501(c) (3) not-for-profit organization in the USA, and is the recipient of the ICC Global 2003 Best Junior Development Initiative Award.
Over the years USAGCA with a vision of “BUILDING GREAT CRICKET PROFESSIONALS” has a long and distinguished association with USA junior cricket teams like the U13 team to Barbados in 2003. Four U18 team tours to Trinidad, U15 and U19 team tours to Wales. Four U19 team tours to the Sir Garfield Sobers Tournament in Barbados, also a U18 team tour to India and Sri Lanka in 2006.
USAGCA m anagement, in a combined statement, said, “The U23 tour will provide a very important opportunity for the team to play against some tough opponents at the International level, and to be exposed to the best pitches there. Our talented players lack International cricket experience with tough opponents. We are here to provide them with the right platform for all players, to become professional and stay on top for future cricket events in the USA.
The USAGCA Management Team for the U23 squad is Ashok Patel – President & Founder, Rahul Sharma – Global Operations Manager, Jatin Patel – Global Development Manager. The academy is in the process of appointing the appropriate coaches for the U23 team.
