USA Falls To UAE Despite Marshall And Netravalkar Efforts
A wonderful innings of 146 from the number 3 batsman, Ghulam Shabbir for UAE has led the hosts to a 24 run victory in Dubai and squared the three match 50 overs series.
His innings dominated the home sides total after Rohan Mustafa decided to bat first after winning the toss. There wasn’t much joy for the American builders after Stephen Taylor removed the two openers inside 11 overs.
To win the match USA would have to chase the highest total of the tour as they required 280 runs to win.
Good innings from Xavier Marshall, Hayden Walsh Jnr and Monank Patel got the USA chase looking in good shape with Marshall top scoring again with 79.
However regular wickets meant that America were always up against it and despise Captain Saurabh Netravalkar’s swashbuckling innings of 41 USA could never get up with the run rate and lost by 24 runs.
After 8 games in just 11 days, it’s a well deserved 2 day rest for Team USA building into the crucial series decider on Thursday, as always you can follow the game live on www.usacricket.org.
