USYCA and Maryland YCA Partner To Bring Cricket To Anne Arundel County Schools

United States Youth Cricket Association (USYCA) President Jamie Harrison joined Sham Chotoo of the Maryland Youth Cricket Association at the Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS) Physical Education Professional Development Day on August 19.

Chotoo, who pioneered the USA’s first-ever elementary schools cricket competition, now looks to expnad that program to neighboring counties such as Anne Arundel. Sham spoke with many enthusiastic PE teachers at the cricket rollout, and it seems a foregone conclusion that AACPS will have its own schools cricket competition next spring.

In all, 39 county schools received USYCA American Cricket Champ sets and instruction, joining two dozen other Anne Arundel schools that received sets in 2013.
